Welcome to Le Montaigne
"Le Montaigne" Bed & Breakfast, is a restored 16th Century three storey village house in the picturesque village of Sainte-Alvère,in Perigord Noir, Dordogne region of France, which is well known for its scenery and winter truffle market. It offers four comfortable kingsize bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms.
There is a park immediately opposite Le Montaigne, so all four bedrooms and our terrace face the park and the fabulous views.
The tranquil village is ideal, as although small, it has everything. As well as being a perfect place for exploring the Dordogne area, it has two Restaurants La P'tite Factory and Le Dix, Coffee Shop, Bar Tabac, Supermarket, Pharmacy, Cash Point, Post Office, Hairdressers, 2 Bakers, Petrol Station, Tourist Information and a Pizza man who serves the village on a Sunday night, and on Mondays there is a local market with local produce and one of France's first Truffle Markets from the end of November to the end of February.
We have 4 comfortable kingsize bedrooms at "Le Montaigne", one of them is a family room which has 2 singles and a kingsize (although this is a family room, regrettably it is not suitable for very young children see Pricing for explanation. The rooms come with hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities, Wi-Fi and a Continental Breakfast, which can be served either in the dining room or on the terrace. All bedrooms have their own shower room (2 x Ensuites).
In July/August, there are many events in the village, such as antique markets and evening markets selling local produce with live music.
